Balcones Counseling
Brendan blends warmth, depth, and humor to guide adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. He equips clients with tools to sustain changes beyond counseling, using evidence-based methods to tailor counseling goals to the unique story and needs of each client. Brendan has completed dedicated training in Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gottman Therapy.
Brendan is informed in his practice by his experiences working with trauma in children and adults, including sexual and physical abuse and neglect. He believes that each person holds inherent dignity and deserves respect, understanding, and compassion. Brendan believes that we are intensely relational: using attachment based therapy, he aids clients to (re)discover the love and care they give and receive in life. He believes that how clients remember the past, live in the present, and dream of the future is worthy of exploration.
Brendan is exclusively private pay; however, he can provide a superbill for out-of-network coverage. Reimbursement is subject to insurer and plan. Brendan maintains a set number of sliding scale spots for clients in need of financial assistance. Inquire within the contact form at the top of the page.
